The Berghof Research Center for Constructive Conflict Management is pleased to announce the release of the first two reports of a new Berghof series on resistance/liberation movements in transition from arms to politics. This series will consist of case studies written by, or in close cooperation with, members of the following organisations: ANC (South Africa), M-19 (Colombia), CPN-M (Nepal), LTTE (Sri Lanka) and Sinn Fein (Ireland). They focus on the crucial role played by armed resistance/liberation movements in the transformations from war to peace and democracy, and the key challenges which they meet in the processes of post-war participation and reconversion. The first two reports are: Mauricio García Durán, Vera Grabe Loewenherz, Otty Patiño Hormaza: M-19\'s Journey from Armed Struggle to Democratic Politics: Striving to Keep the Revolution Connected to the People, (January 2008) - Berghof Transitions No. 1. Mac Maharaj: The ANC and South Africa\'s Negotiated Transition to Democracy and Peace, (January 2008) - Berghof Transitions No. 2.
