Please note that the end of September marked the end of the one year pilot project to establish a conflict prevention network. The partners, International Crisis Group, International Alert, the European Policy Centre and the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office, all consider that it was a most useful exercise and that the CPP provided added value to all stakeholders. This was also the view expressed by Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner in her address to the final CPP event on 12 September.
It is expected that there will be a further Commission tender in the coming weeks and it is thus likely that the network will be continued in some manner in the future (extracted from the announcement).
