21.10.2010 09:00 Uhr
bis 22.10.2010 17:30 Uhr
The so-called „Civil Peace Service“ (CPS) developed in Germany as a form of civil conflict transformation and development cooperation. State financing was secured at the end of the 1990s for this grassroots-focused method of civil and non-violent intervention in conflicts. The concept of the CPS includes the endeavour to professionalise peace work: Hence the qualification of peace and conflict consultants. Meanwhile the Civil Peace Service can look back over 10 years of continual development.
The training looks at the development and history of the CPS as well as its practical implementation. Alongside the experiences gathered and improvements made, issues such as state-nonstate cooperation and civil-military cooperation will be dealt with. The German approach to the CPS will also be put into its global context.
