Background and objectives of the training: In recent years the counselling and coaching for organisations, groups and individuals became one of the core activities in the context of peace building measures. In order to deal with different partners in varying settings, peace and conflict consultants need a wide range of skills and knowledge to accomplish particular objectives. These include communicative skills, moderation between groups, support of decision-making processes as well as advices and methods useful for the development of organisations.
Contents: Advantage and disadvantage of different advisory approaches The Peace and Conflict Consultant as an advisor: the personal mode of advice Influence of personal values and needs on the specific consulting situation The client system Introduction to organisational development Peer Counselling and Intervision.
Learning Goals: Participants are aware of their personal consulting approach Participants have gained an insight into consulting approaches aiming at the development of civil society structures Participants have acquired the basics to advise organisations.
Target Group: Peace and Conflict Consultants preparing their deployment or currently working in projects; persons with previous knowledge and experience in peace work, development cooperation or civil conflict transformation in Germany or abroad.
B2/C1 knowledge of english language is required
